Bethany stops Lyntee and Jaden from entering home

INT. LARRY AND BETHANY’S HOUSE – EVENING

The front door is half-open. Voices echo from inside. The tension is thick, almost suffocating.

BETHANY
(angry, blocking the entrance)
You’re not coming inside. Not today. Not ever like this.

LYNTEE stands at the doorstep, confused and hurt. JADEN clenches his jaw beside him. His WIFE holds his arm, trying to calm him.

JADEN
(frustrated)
Bethany, what is this? This is our family home too.

BETHANY
(sharp, defensive)
Family? You remember that word now? After everything?

Silence hits. Lyntee steps forward slightly, trying to keep things calm.

LYNTEE
(gently)
Bethany, we just came to talk. That’s all.

BETHANY
(cutting him off)
No. You came to create more drama. I’m done with it.

Jaden takes a step closer, his patience slipping.

JADEN
(angry)
You don’t get to decide who comes in and who doesn’t!

BETHANY
(raising her voice)
I do when it’s my peace on the line!

Jaden’s wife pulls him back slightly.

JADEN’S WIFE
(softly)
Jaden… this isn’t helping.

Bethany crosses her arms, her anger masking deeper emotions.

BETHANY
(cold)
Leave. Before this gets worse.

Footsteps echo from inside. LARRY appears in the hallway, confused by the noise.

LARRY
(concerned)
What’s going on here?

He steps outside, taking in the scene — Bethany blocking the door, Jaden furious, Lyntee quiet, and the tension exploding.

LARRY
(firm but calm)
Why is everyone standing outside?

JADEN
(pointing at Bethany)
Ask her. She won’t let us in.

Larry looks at Bethany, searching for answers.

LARRY
(steady)
Bethany?

BETHANY
(defensive, emotional)
I don’t want them inside, Larry. Not after everything.

LARRY
(confused)
After what exactly?

Bethany hesitates, her anger trembling into vulnerability.

BETHANY
(voice shaking)
The lies… the interference… the disrespect. I’m tired of pretending everything is okay.

Lyntee looks down, guilt flickering across his face.

LYNTEE
(low)
We didn’t come here to fight.

BETHANY
(bitter)
That’s what you always say.

Larry exhales slowly, stepping between them.

LARRY
(calm but firm)
Enough.

Everyone falls silent.

LARRY
(looking at Bethany)
You don’t handle things like this. Not by shutting people out.

BETHANY
(hurt)
So I’m the bad one now?

LARRY
(shaking his head)
No. But this… this isn’t right either.

He turns to Jaden and Lyntee.

LARRY
(serious)
And you two—showing up like this without fixing anything first? That’s not right either.

Jaden exhales, his anger cooling slightly.

JADEN
(quiet but firm)
We came to fix things.

BETHANY
(scoffs)
Too late for that.

Larry raises his voice slightly — not angry, but commanding.

LARRY
Enough!

The word lands heavy. Everyone freezes.

LARRY
(controlled, emotional)
This family is falling apart right in front of me… and all of you are too busy proving who’s right.

He looks at Bethany, softer now.

LARRY
You’re hurt. I see that. But pushing them away won’t fix it.

Then he turns to Jaden and Lyntee.

LARRY
And you… whatever happened… you don’t just walk back in like nothing’s wrong.

Silence. The tension shifts into something deeper — reflection.

JADEN’S WIFE
(gently)
Maybe… we all just need to calm down.

Bethany’s eyes fill with tears, but she quickly looks away.

BETHANY
(quiet, breaking)
I just wanted peace…

LARRY
(softly)
And you’ll get it. But not like this.

He pauses, then steps aside from the doorway.

LARRY
(decisive)
Everyone comes inside. We talk. No shouting. No blaming.

Bethany hesitates, gripping her arms tightly.

BETHANY
(whispers)
I don’t know if I can…

Larry gently places a hand on her shoulder.

LARRY
(reassuring)
You don’t have to do it alone.

She looks at him — conflicted, emotional — then slowly steps back from the door.

Jaden and Lyntee exchange a glance before stepping inside cautiously.

INT. LIVING ROOM – CONTINUOUS

Everyone settles awkwardly. The room feels heavy, but calmer.

Bethany stays near the door, distant.

LARRY
(sitting down, steady)
This ends today. Whatever’s broken… we fix it. Together.

Silence lingers — but this time, it’s not hostile. It’s uncertain… hopeful.

Bethany slowly sits down.

Jaden exhales.

Lyntee nods slightly.

The storm hasn’t passed — but for the first time, they’re facing it together.

FADE OUT.
