Larry faces pressure to end marriage with Bethany

 INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING

Dim light fills the room. A tense silence lingers in the air. The clock ticks loudly, almost echoing the unease.

LARRY sits on the couch, leaning forward, hands clasped. His face shows exhaustion.

BROOKE stands near the window, arms crossed, staring outside.

DESTINY paces back and forth, unable to stay still.

A long pause.

DESTINY
(voice trembling with frustration)
We can’t keep living like this, Larry.

LARRY
(quiet, tired)
Living like what?

BROOKE
(turns sharply)
Like this chaos. Like every day is a new fight.

Silence. Larry looks down.

DESTINY
Bethany is the reason, Larry. You know that.

LARRY
(defensive)
She’s my wife.

BROOKE
And this is our home too!

Brooke’s voice cracks slightly, but she stays firm.

BROOKE
We deserve peace… not constant tension.

DESTINY
(steps closer to Larry)
You’ve seen it yourself. The arguments, the accusations… the way she turns everything upside down.

LARRY
(frustrated)
It’s not that simple.

DESTINY
Then make it simple.

A heavy silence falls again.

BROOKE
(soft but firm)
Divorce her, Larry.

Larry looks up, shocked.

LARRY
What?

DESTINY
You heard her.

BROOKE
This house is breaking apart… and you’re letting it happen.

LARRY
(stands up)
You think I don’t see that?!

His voice echoes through the room.

LARRY
You think this is easy for me?

DESTINY
No one said it’s easy… but it’s necessary.

Larry runs a hand through his hair, pacing now.

LARRY
(angry, conflicted)
You’re asking me to throw away my marriage.

BROOKE
We’re asking you to save your family.

The words hit hard.

Larry stops moving.

DESTINY
(softly)
We’re already losing you, Larry.

Close silence.

DESTINY
Every day you defend her… it feels like you’re choosing her over us.

Larry looks at both of them, pain in his eyes.

LARRY
That’s not true.

BROOKE
Then prove it.

Another pause. The tension is unbearable.

INT. KITCHEN – NIGHT

Larry stands alone, staring at the sink. The faint sound of voices from the living room fades away.

He grips the counter tightly.

Flashbacks rush through his mind — arguments, shouting, doors slamming.

Bethany’s voice echoes faintly.

BETHANY (V.O.)
No one here respects me!

Larry closes his eyes, overwhelmed.

INT. LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

Brooke and Destiny sit quietly now, the earlier fire replaced by worry.

DESTINY
(whispering)
Do you think he’ll actually do it?

BROOKE
I don’t know… but something has to change.

Footsteps approach.

Larry walks back in. His face is serious, unreadable.

Both girls look up instantly.

LARRY
(slow, heavy voice)
You really think divorce is the only way?

BROOKE
Yes.

DESTINY
We wouldn’t say it if there was another option.

Larry nods slowly.

LARRY
And if I don’t?

BROOKE
Then nothing will change.

DESTINY
And we can’t keep living like this.

Silence again.

Larry looks around the room — the place filled with memories, now heavy with tension.

LARRY
(quietly)
I wanted this house to be… peaceful.

BROOKE
Then fight for that peace.

DESTINY
Even if it’s a hard decision.

Larry takes a deep breath.

LARRY
(voice cracking slightly)
You’re asking me to break something… to fix everything else.

BROOKE
Sometimes that’s the only way.

A long pause.

Larry nods slowly, but his eyes show deep pain.

INT. BEDROOM – LATE NIGHT

Larry sits on the edge of the bed. The room is dark, quiet.

A photo frame sits beside him — a picture of him and Bethany smiling.

He picks it up, staring at it.

LARRY
(whispers to himself)
Where did we go wrong?

Silence answers him.

He places the photo face down.

INT. LIVING ROOM – NEXT MORNING

Soft sunlight enters the room.

Brooke and Destiny sit together, anxious.

Larry walks in.

They immediately look up.

LARRY
(firm, calm)
I’ve made a decision.

The air freezes.

DESTINY
What is it?

Larry pauses… then speaks.

LARRY
I’m going to talk to Bethany.

A beat.

BROOKE
And?

LARRY
And if things don’t change… I’ll end it.

Brooke and Destiny exchange a look — relief mixed with uncertainty.

DESTINY
That’s fair.

BROOKE
At least you’re finally taking a stand.

Larry nods.

LARRY
I should’ve done it sooner.

A quiet moment of understanding fills the room.

But the tension isn’t gone… just waiting.

FADE OUT.
