Brooke and Destiny Refuse Trip With Bethany

 INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING

A tense silence hangs in the air.

The room is dimly lit. The ticking of a wall clock echoes like a warning. LARRY stands near the window, staring outside, lost in thought.

The front door creaks open.

BROOKE and DESTINY walk in, their expressions firm, almost stormy. There’s no hesitation in their steps.

Larry turns.

LARRY
(softly, confused)
You two look serious… what’s going on?

Brooke and Destiny exchange a glance. A silent agreement passes between them.

Brooke steps forward.

BROOKE
(cold, controlled)
We need to talk. Right now.

Larry straightens, sensing the tension rising.

LARRY
Alright… talk to me.

Destiny crosses her arms, her jaw tight.

DESTINY
This Panama City trip… we’re not going.

Larry blinks, caught off guard.

LARRY
What? Why? We’ve been planning this for weeks.

Brooke’s eyes harden.

BROOKE
Yeah. We were. Before we found out Bethany is going.

A heavy silence drops.

Larry exhales slowly, already anticipating where this is heading.

LARRY
(trying to stay calm)
Bethany going shouldn’t change anything. We can all just—

DESTINY
(interrupting, sharp)
No. It changes everything.

Destiny steps closer, her voice rising with emotion.

DESTINY
You know exactly what happens when she’s around. Drama. Lies. Tension. We’re not putting ourselves through that again.

Larry rubs his forehead, stressed.

LARRY
This trip was supposed to fix things… not break them more.

Brooke shakes her head.

BROOKE
You can’t fix something that keeps getting destroyed.

She pauses, her voice softer but more painful.

BROOKE
Every time we try, she makes it worse.

Larry looks between them, struggling.

LARRY
So what are you saying? You want me to uninvite her?

Destiny lets out a bitter laugh.

DESTINY
You really think she’d just accept that?

A beat.

DESTINY
No. We’re saying something simple.

She looks him straight in the eyes.

DESTINY
If Bethany goes… we don’t.

The words hit hard.

Larry freezes.

LARRY
(quietly)
You’re giving me an ultimatum?

Brooke steps forward again, her tone unwavering.

BROOKE
We’re giving you a choice.

The clock ticks louder.

Larry walks away a few steps, running his hands through his hair. The pressure is building.

LARRY
(frustrated)
Why does it always come to this? Why can’t everyone just—

DESTINY
Because she doesn’t let it be normal!

Destiny’s voice cracks slightly, revealing the hurt underneath.

DESTINY
We’ve tried, Larry. Over and over again. But she keeps crossing lines.

Brooke nods, her eyes glistening but strong.

BROOKE
We’re tired. Mentally… emotionally… tired.

A long pause.

Larry turns back to them slowly.

LARRY
And what about me?

Both girls soften, but only slightly.

LARRY
You’re asking me to choose between people I care about.

Brooke takes a deep breath.

BROOKE
No… we’re asking you to see what’s been right in front of you.

Destiny steps closer, her voice lower now.

DESTINY
We’re not the problem here.

Silence.

Larry’s eyes drop to the floor.

The weight of everything presses down on him.

LARRY
(whispers)
This trip was supposed to bring us together…

Brooke’s voice cuts through gently but firmly.

BROOKE
Then maybe you invited the wrong person.

That lands like a final blow.

Larry looks up, hurt flashing across his face.

Another silence.

Heavy. Unavoidable.

The tension in the room is almost suffocating.

LARRY
(quiet, conflicted)
And if I don’t choose?

Destiny doesn’t hesitate.

DESTINY
Then you’ve already made your decision.

Brooke grabs her bag.

BROOKE
We’re not begging, Larry.

She heads toward the door.

Destiny follows, but stops for a second, turning back.

DESTINY
(soft but firm)
We just know our worth now.

Larry stands frozen, watching them.

The door opens.

For a moment, it feels like time slows.

LARRY
(waiting, desperate)
Brooke… Destiny…

They pause—but don’t turn around.

LARRY
This doesn’t have to end like this.

Brooke speaks without looking back.

BROOKE
Then don’t let it.

The door closes.

Silence crashes into the room.

Larry is left alone.

The ticking clock returns—louder than ever.

He slowly sinks onto the couch, staring into nothing.

Torn.

Confused.

Trapped between loyalty and truth.

Outside, the faint sound of a car engine fades away.

Larry whispers to himself—

LARRY
What am I supposed to do…?

The question lingers in the empty room.

Unanswered.

FADE OUT.
