Brooke Reveals Bethany Secretly Used Her Phone

 INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING

Dim yellow light spills across the room. The air feels heavy — like something is about to break.

BROOKE stands near the window, arms crossed tightly, her face tense. She keeps glancing at LARRY, who sits on the couch, unaware of the storm approaching.

A long silence.

BROOKE takes a deep breath.

BROOKE
Larry… I need to tell you something. And you need to listen carefully.

LARRY looks up, slightly confused but calm.

LARRY
What is it, Brooke? You look serious.

BROOKE hesitates, her eyes flickering with anger and disbelief.

BROOKE
It’s about Bethany.

LARRY straightens, sensing the shift in tone.

LARRY
What about her?

BROOKE steps closer, her voice firm but emotional.

BROOKE
She went into my room… without permission. And she took my phone.

LARRY frowns, not fully processing.

LARRY
What? Maybe you’re misunderstanding—

BROOKE cuts him off, shaking her head.

BROOKE
No. I’m not. I saw her.

A beat of silence.

The weight of her words lands slowly.

BROOKE (CONT'D)
She was sitting on my bed… scrolling through my phone… reading my private messages.

LARRY’s expression changes — confusion turning into shock.

LARRY
Are you serious right now?

BROOKE nods, her eyes glistening with frustration.

BROOKE
I was walking back to my room… and the door was slightly open. I didn’t think anything of it at first.

She pauses, reliving the moment.

BROOKE (CONT'D)
But then I saw her… hiding my phone behind her back when she noticed me.

LARRY stands up slowly.

LARRY
What did she say?

BROOKE lets out a bitter laugh.

BROOKE
Nothing convincing. She just… panicked. Tried to act like she wasn’t doing anything.

A tense silence fills the room.

LARRY
This doesn’t make sense. Why would she do that?

BROOKE’s voice sharpens.

BROOKE
That’s exactly what I want to know, Larry!

She turns away, pacing.

BROOKE (CONT'D)
My personal chats… my private data… everything was in that phone.

Her voice cracks slightly.

BROOKE (CONT'D)
That’s not just a mistake. That’s a violation.

LARRY runs his hand through his hair, visibly disturbed.

LARRY
Did she… say why she was looking through it?

BROOKE stops pacing, facing him again.

BROOKE
No. And honestly, I don’t care what excuse she has.

She takes a step closer, her tone intense.

BROOKE (CONT'D)
There’s no justification for invading someone’s privacy like that.

LARRY exhales deeply, trying to process everything.

LARRY
I… I didn’t expect this from her.

BROOKE softens for a moment, but the hurt remains.

BROOKE
Neither did I.

A quiet pause.

BROOKE (CONT'D)
But I saw it with my own eyes, Larry. I’m not guessing.

LARRY nods slowly, accepting the reality.

LARRY
Okay… okay.

He looks down, thinking hard.

LARRY (CONT'D)
This is serious.

BROOKE crosses her arms again.

BROOKE
Exactly.

Silence lingers, thick and uncomfortable.

BROOKE (CONT'D)
If she’s comfortable doing this… what else is she capable of?

LARRY looks up, concerned.

LARRY
Don’t jump to conclusions—

BROOKE interrupts, frustration rising again.

BROOKE
I’m not jumping to anything! I’m reacting to what happened.

Her voice lowers, more controlled now.

BROOKE (CONT'D)
Trust is already fragile in this house, Larry. And this… this just breaks it even more.

LARRY nods slowly, unable to argue.

LARRY
You’re right.

Another pause.

LARRY (CONT'D)
I’ll talk to her.

BROOKE watches him carefully.

BROOKE
You need to do more than just talk.

LARRY meets her gaze.

LARRY
What do you want me to do?

BROOKE sighs, exhaustion creeping into her voice.

BROOKE
I want accountability.

She steps back slightly.

BROOKE (CONT'D)
She needs to understand that this isn’t okay… not even a little.

LARRY nods again, more firmly this time.

LARRY
She will.

BROOKE looks away, her anger slowly turning into hurt.

BROOKE
I just… I don’t feel comfortable anymore.

The room falls silent again.

LARRY takes a step toward her but stops — unsure.

LARRY
I’m sorry this happened to you.

BROOKE doesn’t respond immediately.

She stares out the window, lost in thought.

BROOKE
I trusted her.

A soft, painful realization.

LARRY looks at her, regret visible in his eyes.

LARRY
I’ll handle it. I promise.

BROOKE nods faintly, but the damage is clear.

The trust is cracked.

Maybe beyond repair.

FADE OUT.
