Jaden Calmly Teaches Brooke Her First Driving Lesson

 SCENE: FIRST DRIVING LESSON

EXT. QUIET SUBURBAN STREET – MORNING

Soft morning light washes over a peaceful neighborhood. Birds chirp faintly. A parked car sits near the curb, engine off.

INT. CAR – CONTINUOUS

Brooke sits in the driver’s seat, seatbelt fastened, eyes wide with excitement and nerves. Her hands grip the steering wheel tightly.

Jaden sits beside her in the passenger seat, relaxed but attentive, watching her closely.

A tense but warm silence fills the car.

BROOKE
I’ve been asking you all morning… you have to teach me today.

She smiles nervously, bouncing slightly in her seat.

JADEN
(sighs, half-smiling)
You don’t just “learn driving” in one day, Brooke.

He glances at her hands on the wheel.

BROOKE
(confidently)
Well, today feels like the day.

She laughs softly, trying to hide her nervousness.

Jaden shakes his head, defeated but amused.

JADEN
Alright… fine. But listen carefully. No rushing, okay?

He adjusts his seatbelt and leans slightly toward her.

BROOKE
(excited)
Deal!

Her eyes sparkle with anticipation.

EXT. CAR – MOMENTS LATER

The car engine starts. A soft hum fills the air.

INT. CAR – CONTINUOUS

Brooke’s hands tighten on the steering wheel. She takes a deep breath.

Jaden watches her carefully, calm and focused.

JADEN
Start slow. Foot on the brake first.

BROOKE
(nervously laughing)
Okay… okay… I can do this.

She presses the brake slightly too hard.

The car jerks gently.

BROOKE
Oh my—!

JADEN
(laughs softly)
Relax. You’re not racing anyone.

Brooke exhales, trying to steady herself.

BROOKE
I just don’t want to mess up.

JADEN
You will mess up. That’s the point.

He says it gently, reassuring rather than critical.

Brooke glances at him, surprised.

BROOKE
That’s supposed to make me feel better?

JADEN
(smiles)
It should. Everyone starts somewhere.

A pause. Brooke nods slowly, calmer now.

EXT. QUIET STREET – CONTINUOUS

The car begins to move forward slowly.

INT. CAR – CONTINUOUS

Brooke’s excitement builds. Her nervous laugh returns, lighter this time.

BROOKE
I’m actually doing it…

JADEN
Yeah. Just keep it steady.

He watches the road, then her, alternating focus.

Brooke gently turns the steering wheel. The car sways slightly.

Her eyes widen.

BROOKE
Wait—am I turning too much?

JADEN
No, you’re good. Just correct it slowly.

She adjusts carefully, breathing deeper now.

Confidence starts to grow in her expression.

BROOKE
This feels… kind of amazing.

JADEN
Told you.

He leans back slightly, still alert but more relaxed.

A soft breeze passes through the open window. The moment feels lighter, almost freeing.

BROOKE
(softly laughing)
I can’t believe I was scared of this.

JADEN
Everyone is at first.

He glances at her with a small, approving smile.

EXT. ROAD – CONTINUOUS

The car continues smoothly down the quiet street.

INT. CAR – CONTINUOUS

Brooke’s grip loosens slightly on the wheel. She looks more comfortable now.

BROOKE
Okay… what next?

JADEN
Now you keep going straight. And don’t overthink it.

She nods, focused.

A beat of silence passes, but it’s no longer tense—just peaceful.

BROOKE
You’re actually a good teacher, you know.

JADEN
(chuckles)
Don’t get used to compliments yet.

Brooke laughs, more confidently this time.

EXT. SUNLIT STREET – CONTINUOUS

The car drives steadily into the distance, framed by warm morning light.

INT. CAR – FINAL MOMENTS

Brooke smiles to herself, still focused on the road.

Jaden watches her quietly, proud but understated.

BROOKE
I think I like this… a lot.

JADEN
Just wait until parallel parking.

Brooke groans instantly, both of them laughing together.

FADE OUT.
