Jaden sits beside her in the passenger seat, relaxed but attentive, watching her closely.

BROOKE
I’ve been asking you all morning… you have to teach me today.
She smiles nervously, bouncing slightly in her seat.
JADEN

You don’t just “learn driving” in one day, Brooke.
He glances at her hands on the wheel.

She presses the brake slightly too hard.
The car jerks gently.
BROOKE
Oh my—!
JADEN
(laughs softly)
Relax. You’re not racing anyone.
Brooke exhales, trying to steady herself.
BROOKE
I just don’t want to mess up.
JADEN
You will mess up. That’s the point.
He says it gently, reassuring rather than critical.
Brooke glances at him, surprised.
BROOKE
That’s supposed to make me feel better?
JADEN
(smiles)

A pause. Brooke nods slowly, calmer now.

JADEN

Wait—am I turning too much?
JADEN
No, you’re good. Just correct it slowly.
She adjusts carefully, breathing deeper now.

This feels… kind of amazing.
JADEN

He leans back slightly, still alert but more relaxed.

JADEN

JADEN
Now you keep going straight. And don’t overthink it.
She nods, focused.

BROOKE
You’re actually a good teacher, you know.
JADEN
(chuckles)
Don’t get used to compliments yet.
Brooke laughs, more confidently this time.
