Larry Chooses Sharra Over Bethany During Panama Trip

 INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING

A quiet tension hangs in the air. The clock ticks loudly. Suitcases sit half-packed near the couch.

BETHANY stands near the window, arms folded, watching the fading sunlight. Her face shows worry mixed with frustration.

The front door opens. LARRY walks in, holding his phone, distracted but determined.

BETHANY
(soft, controlled)
You’re late again.

LARRY
(not making eye contact)
Yeah… I had things to sort out.

A pause. The silence grows heavier.

BETHANY
(glancing at the suitcase)
So it’s true? You’re going on that trip?

LARRY
(sighs, finally looking at her)
Yeah. I’m going with Brooke and Destiny.

BETHANY
(confused, hurt)
Since when do you go on trips like that?

Larry hesitates. His expression tightens.

LARRY
I just… need a break, Bethany.

BETHANY
A break? From what? From me?

Larry looks away. That silence is the answer.

CUT TO:

INT. KITCHEN – MOMENTS LATER

Bethany stands by the counter, gripping it tightly. Larry leans against the doorway, uneasy.

BETHANY
(voice trembling)
Or is this about Sharra?

Larry stiffens. The name hits hard.

LARRY
(defensive)
Don’t start this again.

BETHANY
(stepping closer)
Then tell me I’m wrong.

Larry doesn’t respond. His silence confirms everything.

BETHANY
(tears forming)
You want to spend time with her… don’t you?

LARRY
(frustrated)
It’s not like that.

BETHANY
(raising her voice)
Then what is it like, Larry?!

A long pause. Larry exhales deeply.

LARRY
(honest, quiet)
I just feel… lighter around her.

Bethany steps back as if struck.

BETHANY
(whispers)
And with me?

Larry struggles to answer.

LARRY
It’s complicated.

BETHANY
(shaking her head)
No. It’s actually very simple.

CUT TO:

INT. BEDROOM – NIGHT

The suitcase is now fully open on the bed. Clothes are neatly folded.

Larry packs silently. The zipper sound echoes in the room.

Bethany stands by the door, watching him.

BETHANY
You’re really leaving.

LARRY
(quietly)
Just for a few days.

BETHANY
(bitter smile)
Funny… it feels longer than that.

Larry pauses packing but doesn’t turn around.

BETHANY
(soft but sharp)
Are you going for the trip… or for her?

Larry closes his eyes briefly.

LARRY
I need space, Bethany.

BETHANY
And I need honesty.

Silence fills the room again.

CUT TO:

EXT. HOUSE – NIGHT

A car pulls up. BROOKE honks lightly. DESTINY leans out of the window, waving.

DESTINY
(shouting playfully)
Larry! Let’s go, we’re getting late!

Larry walks out with his bag. Bethany follows him to the door.

BETHANY
(last attempt)
If you walk out now… things won’t be the same.

Larry stops for a moment but doesn’t turn back.

LARRY
Maybe that’s the point.

Bethany’s face falls.

CUT TO:

EXT. DRIVEWAY – CONTINUOUS

Larry puts his bag in the trunk. Brooke smiles at him, sensing his tension.

BROOKE
You okay?

LARRY
(nods)
Yeah. Just… needed this.

Destiny glances toward the house.

DESTINY
Bethany didn’t come out?

Larry shakes his head.

LARRY
No.

A brief silence. Then Brooke starts the engine.

CUT TO:

INT. CAR – MOVING – NIGHT

The city lights blur past. Music plays softly.

Larry looks out the window, lost in thought.

DESTINY
(excited)
Panama City is going to be amazing!

BROOKE
(smiling)
Yeah, fresh air, beaches… no drama.

Larry forces a small smile.

LARRY
Yeah… no drama.

But his eyes say otherwise.

CUT TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM – SAME TIME

Bethany sits alone on the couch. The silence is deafening.

She looks at the empty space where Larry stood earlier.

Her phone rests beside her. She picks it up… then puts it down again.

BETHANY
(whispers to herself)
Was I really that easy to leave?

Tears roll down her cheeks.

CUT TO:

EXT. HIGHWAY – NIGHT

The car speeds down the dark road, heading toward Panama City.

Inside, laughter begins to build between Brooke and Destiny.

Larry leans back, closing his eyes.

For a moment, he smiles… thinking of Sharra.

FADE OUT.
