Larry Confronts Brooke Over Dutchess Disrespect Incident

 INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING

Dim golden light spills across the room. The air feels heavy, like something is about to break.

BROOKE stands near the window, arms crossed, trying to appear calm. Her fingers tremble slightly.

The front door SLAMS open.

LARRY storms in, his face tight with anger, eyes blazing.

A long silence.

LARRY
(voice low, controlled)
Is it true?

BROOKE doesn’t turn immediately.

BROOKE
What are you talking about?

LARRY steps closer, his presence intense, overwhelming.

LARRY
Don’t play games with me, Brooke.
I just got off the phone with Dutchess.

BROOKE freezes.

A flicker of guilt crosses her face.

BROOKE
(slightly defensive)
Oh… that.

LARRY lets out a sharp, bitter laugh.

LARRY
Yeah. That.
You disrespected her… and then told her to keep a secret from Sharra?

BROOKE finally turns, lifting her chin.

BROOKE
It wasn’t like that.

LARRY
Then explain it to me.

A beat.

BROOKE takes a breath, trying to steady herself.

BROOKE
I just… didn’t want unnecessary drama.
It was just a tattoo, Larry.

LARRY’s jaw tightens.

LARRY
It’s not about the tattoo!

He steps closer, pointing a finger, anger rising.

LARRY
It’s about how you treated someone who deserves respect.
And then you tried to manipulate the situation.

BROOKE’s eyes flash.

BROOKE
Manipulate? Seriously?

She scoffs, shaking her head.

BROOKE
I was trying to avoid chaos. You know how Sharra is—

LARRY
(interrupting, sharp)
Don’t. Don’t turn this on someone else.

Silence cuts through the room.

BROOKE’s expression hardens.

BROOKE
You’re overreacting.

LARRY laughs again, but there’s no humor in it.

LARRY
Overreacting?
You humiliated Dutchess and then told her to lie.

BROOKE
I didn’t tell her to lie!

LARRY
You told her not to tell the truth. That’s the same thing!

BROOKE’s composure cracks slightly.

She looks away, pacing.

BROOKE
(frustrated)
You don’t understand. It wasn’t a big deal.

LARRY
It became a big deal the moment you disrespected her.

A tense pause.

BROOKE stops pacing, her voice quieter now.

BROOKE
She was being dramatic.

LARRY’s expression darkens instantly.

LARRY
Careful.

BROOKE looks back at him, stubborn.

BROOKE
I’m just saying what I saw.

LARRY steps even closer, lowering his voice dangerously.

LARRY
No. You’re justifying bad behavior.

A long silence.

BROOKE’s eyes glisten, but she refuses to back down.

BROOKE
Why are you taking her side?

That hits something deeper.

LARRY exhales slowly, trying to control himself.

LARRY
This isn’t about sides.

He softens slightly—but only for a moment.

LARRY
It’s about right and wrong.

BROOKE looks at him, hurt creeping in.

BROOKE
So I’m just… wrong?

LARRY
Right now? Yeah.

The words land hard.

BROOKE flinches.

BROOKE
(quiet, defensive)
You didn’t even ask me first.

LARRY
I did. And you tried to dodge it.

BROOKE shakes her head, frustration building again.

BROOKE
Because I knew you’d react like this!

LARRY
Maybe if you hadn’t done anything wrong, I wouldn’t have to!

The tension spikes.

Both of them breathing heavier now.

BROOKE turns away again, wiping at her eyes quickly.

BROOKE
(softly)
I didn’t think it would turn into this.

LARRY watches her, his anger slowly mixing with disappointment.

LARRY
That’s the problem, Brooke.
You didn’t think.

A heavy silence fills the room.

BROOKE closes her eyes for a moment.

BROOKE
I just… wanted control over something.

LARRY’s expression shifts slightly—confusion, then realization.

LARRY
Control?

BROOKE nods faintly, still not looking at him.

BROOKE
Everything’s been chaotic lately.
I thought if Sharra didn’t know… it would stay simple.

LARRY sighs, running a hand through his hair.

LARRY
Secrets don’t make things simple.
They make things worse.

BROOKE finally turns back, her voice fragile now.

BROOKE
I didn’t mean to hurt anyone.

LARRY looks at her for a long moment.

LARRY
But you did.

Another silence.

BROOKE swallows hard.

BROOKE
What now?

LARRY exhales slowly, the anger fading into something heavier.

LARRY
Now… you fix it.

BROOKE hesitates.

BROOKE
How?

LARRY
You apologize to Dutchess.
And you tell Sharra the truth yourself.

BROOKE’s face tightens again—fear, reluctance.

BROOKE
She’s going to be furious.

LARRY
Yeah. She probably will.

A beat.

LARRY
But it’s still the right thing to do.

BROOKE looks down, conflicted.

Her fingers grip tightly together.

Finally—

BROOKE
(quietly)
Okay.

LARRY studies her, making sure she means it.

LARRY
No more secrets.

BROOKE nods slowly.

BROOKE
No more secrets.

A long pause.

The tension hasn’t fully disappeared—but something has shifted.

LARRY steps back, giving her space.

BROOKE stands alone for a moment, the weight of her choices settling in.

FADE OUT.
