LARRY grips the steering wheel tightly, eyes focused ahead.

JADEN sits in the passenger seat, glancing occasionally at Larry.

In the backseat, KAYLEE holds a baby close to her chest, gently rocking.

The baby makes soft sounds.

Silence lingers.

JADEN
You’ve been quiet for a while, Larry.

LARRY
(softly)
Just thinking… long road ahead.

KAYLEE
We’ll be okay… right?

Larry forces a small nod, but his eyes reveal worry.

EXT. HIGHWAY – CONTINUOUS

The SUV speeds forward. The sky darkens slightly. Wind grows stronger.

A distant rumble of thunder.

INT. SUV – CONTINUOUS

The baby starts crying.

KAYLEE
(shushing)
It’s okay… it’s okay…

JADEN
Maybe we should stop somewhere.

LARRY
No… Atlanta isn’t too far now.

Suddenly — headlights appear from the opposite direction. Too bright. Too fast.

Larry squints.

LARRY
(confused)
What the—

The oncoming car swerves wildly.

JADEN
Larry!

Everything happens in seconds.

Larry jerks the steering wheel.

Tires SCREECH.

The SUV spins.

Kaylee screams, clutching the baby tightly.

KAYLEE
Hold on!

CRASH!!!

A violent collision. Metal crunches. Glass shatters. The world turns chaotic.

EXT. HIGHWAY – MOMENTS LATER

Silence.

The SUV sits wrecked at the side of the road, smoke rising slowly.

The front is crushed.

Glass litters the ground.

INT. SUV – CONTINUOUS

A ringing sound fills the air.

Larry’s head hangs forward.

Blood trickles from his forehead.

He slowly opens his eyes.

LARRY
(weakly)
Jaden…?

JADEN groans beside him, dazed but alive.

JADEN
I’m… I’m here…

Larry turns back.

LARRY
Kaylee!

In the backseat, Kaylee clutches the baby tightly. Tears run down her face.

KAYLEE
(shaking)
We’re okay… the baby’s okay…

The baby cries loudly now — alive.

A sign of hope.

EXT. HIGHWAY – CONTINUOUS

The car door creaks open.

Larry stumbles out, barely steady on his feet.

Jaden follows, holding his side in pain.

Kaylee steps out carefully, still holding the baby protectively.

They all stand there… staring at the wreck.

WIDE SHOT:

Three survivors.

One destroyed car.

Smoke rising into the darkening sky.

JADEN
(voice trembling)
We… we could’ve died…

KAYLEE
(tears falling)
But we didn’t…

Larry looks at them — really looks this time.

His face softens.

Relief washes over him.

LARRY
We’re still here… that’s what matters.

A distant siren begins to echo.

Faint… but getting closer.

KAYLEE
(holding baby tighter)
I thought… I lost everything…

JADEN
(placing hand on her shoulder)
You didn’t.

Larry turns back to the wrecked car.

His expression shifts — guilt, pain, and something deeper.

LARRY
(low voice)
This… this could’ve ended differently…

JADEN
But it didn’t.

A pause.

Wind blows stronger.

The moment feels heavy.

KAYLEE
Maybe… this is a second chance.

Larry looks at her.

For the first time — a hint of clarity in his eyes.

LARRY
Yeah… maybe it is.

The baby slowly calms down.

Its soft breathing contrasts the chaos around them.

EXT. HIGHWAY – NIGHT FALLING

Flashing red and blue lights appear in the distance.

Emergency vehicles approach.

The sound of sirens grows louder.

WIDE CINEMATIC SHOT:

The broken car.

The shaken survivors.

The long road ahead.

JADEN
(quietly)
Atlanta can wait.

Larry nods.

LARRY
Yeah… right now, we just breathe.

Kaylee closes her eyes for a moment, holding her baby close.

KAYLEE
Thank God…

They stand together — closer than before.
