Dim dashboard lights glow softly.

LARRY grips the steering wheel, focused but tired.

JADEN sits in the front passenger seat, scrolling nervously on his phone.

In the back seat, KAYLEE leans against the window, half-asleep.

A heavy silence fills the car.

KAYLEE
(softly)
Are we close?

LARRY
Almost there. Just a little more.

JADEN
(glancing outside)
This road feels… off.

Larry forces a small smile.

LARRY
It’s just quiet. We’ll be fine.

Suddenly—

HEADLIGHTS appear behind them. Fast. Aggressive.

JADEN

That car’s been following us…

Larry checks the rearview mirror. His grip tightens.

LARRY
Stay calm.

The car behind HONKS loudly.

Then SWERVES forward—

CUTTING IN FRONT of them.

EXT. HIGHWAY – CONTINUOUS

The SUV screeches to a halt.

Dust rises in the air.

Two masked men jump out of the blocking vehicle.

INT. SUV – CONTINUOUS

Kaylee gasps, fully awake.

KAYLEE
(panicked)
What’s happening?!

JADEN
Oh no… no…

A LOUD BANG on the driver’s window.

Larry flinches.

ROBBER #1 (O.S.)
Open the door! NOW!

Another robber appears at Jaden’s side, tapping something metallic against the glass.

JADEN
(shaking)
Larry… don’t open it…

Larry’s breathing becomes heavy.

LARRY
(low, controlled)
We don’t have a choice.

Slowly… he unlocks the doors.

EXT. HIGHWAY – CONTINUOUS

The robbers yank the doors open.

Cold night air rushes in.

ROBBER #1
Get out! All of you!

INT. SUV – CONTINUOUS

Kaylee clutches the seat.

KAYLEE
(terrified)
Larry…

LARRY
(softly)
It’s okay. Stay calm.

They step out.

EXT. HIGHWAY – CONTINUOUS

The three stand close together under harsh headlights.

The robbers circle them.

ROBBER #2
Phones. Wallets. Everything.

Jaden hurriedly pulls out his phone, hands shaking.

JADEN
Here… take it… just don’t hurt us.

Kaylee struggles to remove her bracelet.

KAYLEE
Please… we don’t have much…

Larry slowly hands over his wallet.

LARRY
Take it. Just let us go.

Robber #1 steps closer to Larry, intimidating.

ROBBER #1
You think this is a game?

Larry stays silent. Eyes steady—but fear is visible.

A tense pause.

Only the sound of wind.

Kaylee starts crying softly.

KAYLEE
(whispering)
I’m scared…

Jaden puts a protective arm around her.

JADEN
It’s okay… we’re together.

The robbers grab the valuables.

They exchange a quick look.

ROBBER #2
Let’s go.

They run back to their car.

Engine ROARS.

They disappear into the darkness.

Silence returns.

Heavy. Suffocating.

EXT. HIGHWAY – MOMENTS LATER

The three stand frozen.

Processing.

Shaken.

Kaylee breaks down.

KAYLEE
(sobbing)
That… that just happened…

Larry exhales deeply. His hands tremble.

LARRY
Yeah…

Jaden looks around, still alert.

JADEN
They’re gone… right?

Larry nods slowly.

LARRY
They’re gone.

A long pause.

INT. SUV – LATER

They sit back inside.

No one speaks.

The car feels different now—heavier.

Larry starts the engine.

KAYLEE
(quiet, broken)
I thought… we weren’t going to make it.

Larry glances at her through the mirror.

LARRY
We did.

Jaden stares ahead.

JADEN
This… changes things.

Larry nods.

LARRY
Yeah. It does.

He grips the wheel tighter than before.

EXT. HIGHWAY – CONTINUOUS

The SUV slowly moves forward again.

Smaller.

Fragile in the vast darkness.

INT. SUV – CONTINUOUS

No music.

No conversation.

Just silence—and lingering fear.

KAYLEE
(softly)
Can we just go home… please?

Larry swallows hard.

LARRY
Yeah. We’re going home.

He presses the accelerator.

EXT. HIGHWAY – NIGHT

The car drives into the distance.

Headlights fading into black.
