Lynette stopped on road after Bethany alerts police

EXT. ATLANTA CITY ROAD – LATE AFTERNOON

Traffic hums through a busy street. Sunlight reflects off glass buildings. A black Ford SUV moves steadily between lanes.

Inside the SUV—

INT. SUV – CONTINUOUS

LYTNEE (gray coat) grips the steering wheel. Her eyes are focused, but a quiet tension lingers on her face.

Beside her, silence.

A phone buzzes in the cup holder.

She glances at it.

Unknown number.

She ignores it.

LYTNEE
(softly, to herself)
Just a little further…

She exhales.

Outside, the city feels loud.

Inside, everything feels too quiet.

CUT TO:

INT. HOUSE – SAME TIME

BETHANY (blue shirt) paces back and forth in a living room.

Her phone is pressed tightly against her ear.

Her expression—angry, shaken, desperate.

BETHANY
(into phone)
Yes, I’m telling you—she just arrived in Atlanta.
I don’t know what she’s planning, but something isn’t right.

She listens.

Her jaw tightens.

BETHANY (CONT’D)
Her name is Lytnee. Gray coat. Black SUV.
Please… just stop her before she disappears.

A pause.

BETHANY (CONT’D)
(whispers)
You have to.

She slowly lowers the phone.

Silence fills the room.

Her hands tremble slightly.

CUT TO:

EXT. ATLANTA ROAD – MOMENTS LATER

The SUV continues down the road.

Suddenly—

A distant SIREN.

Lytnee’s eyes flick to the rearview mirror.

Red and blue lights flash.

Her grip tightens.

LYTNEE
(under breath)
No…

The siren grows louder.

Closer.

A POLICE CAR speeds up behind her.

EXT. ROAD SHOULDER – CONTINUOUS

The SUV pulls over.

Gravel crunches under the tires.

The police car stops behind her, lights still flashing.

The world seems to pause.

INT. SUV – CONTINUOUS

Lytnee sits still.

Her breathing becomes controlled.

Measured.

She looks ahead.

Then slowly reaches for her bag.

Stops.

Hands back on the wheel.

EXT. ROAD SHOULDER – CONTINUOUS

A POLICE OFFICER steps out of the car.

Calm.

Alert.

Hand resting near his belt.

He approaches the SUV.

OFFICER
(firm, professional)
Ma’am, please step out of the vehicle.

A beat.

The door opens.

Lytnee steps out.

EXT. ROAD – CONTINUOUS

Cars pass by.

People glance.

But no one stops.

Lytnee stands beside the SUV.

Still.

Composed.

LYTNEE
Is there a problem, officer?

OFFICER
We received a report. I’ll need to see your ID.

She nods.

Reaches into her coat slowly.

Carefully.

Hands over her ID.

The officer studies it.

OFFICER (CONT’D)
Lytnee… where are you coming from?

LYTNEE
Montana.

OFFICER
And your reason for being here?

A slight pause.

LYTNEE
Personal.

The officer watches her closely.

Reading her.

Another police car arrives.

Lights flashing.

The tension thickens.

CUT TO:

EXT. SIDEWALK – SAME TIME

Across the street—

LARRY (brown coat) stands at a distance.

Watching.

His face filled with concern.

He wasn’t expecting this.

His hands tighten into fists.

LARRY
(whispers)
Bethany…

He takes a step forward.

Stops.

Unsure.

Back to the scene—

OFFICER
Ma’am, I’m going to ask you a few more questions.

LYTNEE
(calm)
Of course.

But her eyes briefly flick—

Across the street.

She sees Larry.

Their eyes meet.

A silent exchange.

Worry.

Understanding.

Then—

The officer notices.

OFFICER
Do you know that man?

Lytnee hesitates.

Just for a second.

LYTNEE
Yes.

OFFICER
Who is he?

Another pause.

LYTNEE
Someone who shouldn’t be here.

Larry exhales sharply.

He steps forward now.

No more distance.

EXT. ROAD – CONTINUOUS

Larry approaches carefully.

LARRY
Officer—

The second officer turns immediately.

SECOND OFFICER
Sir, stay where you are.

Larry stops.

Hands slightly raised.

LARRY
I’m not causing trouble. I just—
I know her.

The first officer looks between them.

OFFICER
This situation doesn’t concern you. Step back.

Larry looks at Lytnee.

She gives the smallest shake of her head.

Don’t.

He freezes.

Conflict in his eyes.

Helplessness.

LARRY
(softly)
I’m not leaving.

The air feels heavier now.

Cars slow down as they pass.

The city keeps moving—

But for them, everything has stopped.

OFFICER
(to Lytnee)
Ma’am, please turn around.

A beat.

Lytnee slowly turns.

Hands visible.

Controlled.

Larry watches.

Every second stretching longer.

LARRY
(under breath)
This wasn’t supposed to happen…

Lytnee closes her eyes for a brief moment.

Then opens them again.

Strong.

Unshaken.

But something deeper—

Unspoken.

The flashing lights reflect in all their eyes.

Red.

Blue.

Tension.

Silence.

FADE OUT.
