Lyntee Moves From Montana To Atlanta With Larry’s Family

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – MORNING

Soft sunlight filters through the curtains. The room is calm, almost too calm.

BETHANY sits on the couch, scrolling through her phone, sipping coffee. Her expression is neutral… until it changes.

Her eyes freeze.

A message notification.

Her fingers slowly stop moving.

INSERT – PHONE SCREEN
A photo of LYNTEE, smiling, standing outside a house… this house.

BACK TO SCENE

Bethany’s grip tightens on the phone.

A long silence.

BETHANY
(whispers)
No… no way.

Her breathing sharpens.

Footsteps approach.

LARRY walks in, casual, unaware.

LARRY
Morning. You’re up early—

Bethany stands abruptly.

BETHANY
(interrupting)
Since when is Lyntee in Atlanta?

Larry stops.

A beat.

He exhales slowly.

LARRY
I was going to tell you—

BETHANY
(angry laugh)
Oh, you were going to?

She holds up the phone.

BETHANY
Because social media beat you to it.

Silence stretches.

Larry rubs his forehead.

LARRY
He needed a place. It’s temporary.

BETHANY
Temporary? With his entire family?

Her voice rises.

BETHANY
You didn’t think I deserved to know before they showed up?!

LARRY
I didn’t want to start a fight.

BETHANY
Congratulations. You failed.

A tense pause.

From the hallway, faint sounds—luggage wheels rolling.

Bethany turns slowly.

Her eyes widen.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – HALLWAY – CONTINUOUS

LYNTEE enters, carrying a bag. Behind him, his family members move quietly, uncertain.

He sees Bethany.

Stops.

Awkward silence fills the space.

LYNTEE
Hey… Bethany.

Bethany stares.

Cold. Unblinking.

BETHANY
So it’s real.

She steps closer.

BETHANY
You just… moved in?

LYNTEE
(defensive, but calm)
We didn’t have many options.

BETHANY
And I’m supposed to what—just accept this?

Larry steps between them slightly.

LARRY
Bethany—

BETHANY
(ignoring him)
Did you even think about how this affects me?

Lyntee hesitates.

Looks down briefly.

LYNTEE
I thought about survival.

That lands.

Bethany’s expression flickers—but hardens again.

BETHANY
And I’m just collateral damage?

A heavy silence.

From behind Lyntee, a child clutches a small bag, watching nervously.

Bethany notices.

Her anger pauses… just for a second.

Then returns.

BETHANY
(to Larry)
You made this decision without me.

LARRY
I made a decision to help family.

BETHANY
At the cost of our peace?

Their eyes lock.

Years of tension simmer beneath the surface.

INT. KITCHEN – LATER

Bethany stands alone, gripping the counter.

Her reflection stares back from the window.

Larry enters slowly.

Careful.

LARRY
We can figure this out.

No response.

LARRY
It doesn’t have to be chaos.

BETHANY
(quiet, controlled)
It already is.

She turns to him.

Eyes glossy—but strong.

BETHANY
You always do this.

LARRY
Do what?

BETHANY
Make big decisions… and expect me to adjust.

A pause.

Larry struggles to respond.

LARRY
I thought you’d understand.

BETHANY
That’s the problem.

She steps closer.

BETHANY
You assume I’ll always bend.

Silence.

The weight of her words hangs heavy.

INT. GUEST ROOM – SAME TIME

Lyntee unpacks slowly.

His movements are careful, almost hesitant.

He hears muffled voices from the kitchen.

Tension.

He closes his eyes briefly.

Exhales.

LYNTEE
(softly, to himself)
This wasn’t supposed to happen like this.

A knock at the door.

He opens it.

Bethany stands there.

Calm… but intense.

BETHANY
We need boundaries.

Lyntee nods slightly.

LYNTEE
Fair.

BETHANY
This isn’t permanent.

LYNTEE
I know.

A pause.

They look at each other—not enemies, not allies… something complicated.

BETHANY
I won’t be disrespected in my own space.

LYNTEE
And I won’t cause problems intentionally.

A fragile understanding forms.

Not peace… but a pause in the storm.

INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING

The house feels different now.

Full. Tense.

Unfamiliar.

Bethany sits alone again—but this time, no phone. Just silence.

Larry watches her from a distance.

Unsure.

Lyntee walks past quietly, keeping space.

No one speaks.

But everything has changed.

BETHANY
(voice low, to herself)
This is just the beginning.

The camera slowly pulls back.

A house filled with people…

…and unresolved emotions.

FADE OUT.
