Sharra discovers Bethany secretly gave money to Brooke and Destiny

 INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING

Soft yellow light fills the room. The air is tense, almost suffocating. A clock ticks loudly on the wall.

SHARRA stands near the window, arms crossed tightly. Her jaw is clenched. She’s been waiting.

The front door creaks open.

DESTINY and BROOKE walk in, laughing quietly—until they notice Sharra.

Silence drops.

DESTINY
(uneasy)
Sharra… you’re still awake?

SHARRA
(cold, controlled)
Yeah. I was waiting.

Brooke glances at Destiny, sensing danger.

BROOKE
What’s wrong?

Sharra slowly steps forward, eyes sharp.

SHARRA
You tell me. Or should I say it?

A pause.

Destiny swallows hard.

DESTINY
(confused act)
I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Sharra lets out a short, bitter laugh.

SHARRA
Really? You don’t know?

She pulls out her phone, holds it up.

SHARRA (CONT'D)
Because I do.

The tension spikes instantly.

BROOKE
(nervous)
Sharra, just—calm down—

SHARRA
(raising her voice)
Don’t tell me to calm down!

Beat.

Her voice lowers, but it’s sharper now.

SHARRA
Bethany gave you money. Didn’t she?

Silence.

Destiny looks down.

Brooke avoids eye contact.

That’s enough of an answer.

SHARRA (CONT'D)
(voice breaking slightly)
Wow… so it’s true.

She shakes her head, stepping back as if betrayed.

SHARRA (CONT'D)
And you didn’t think to tell me?

DESTINY
(defensive)
It wasn’t a big deal!

SHARRA
Not a big deal?

She steps closer again, anger rising.

SHARRA (CONT'D)
Secrets in this house are always a big deal.

Brooke finally steps in.

BROOKE
Look, Bethany told us not to say anything—

SHARRA
(interrupting)
And you listened?

Beat.

BROOKE
She said it would cause problems.

SHARRA
(scoffs)
Oh, and this isn’t causing problems?

The room feels smaller, heavier.

Destiny runs a hand through her hair.

DESTINY
We didn’t want drama, okay?

SHARRA
Too late for that.

A long silence.

Footsteps are heard from upstairs.

Everyone freezes.

BETHANY appears at the top of the stairs, looking down at them.

She senses everything immediately.

BETHANY
(carefully)
What’s going on?

Sharra turns slowly toward her.

Eyes locked.

SHARRA
You tell me.

Bethany walks down, composed—but her eyes flicker toward Destiny and Brooke.

BETHANY
Why is everyone so tense?

SHARRA
Because your secret is out.

Beat.

Bethany stops halfway down the stairs.

BETHANY
(flat)
What secret?

Sharra steps forward.

SHARRA
The money.

Silence crashes into the room.

Bethany’s expression tightens—but she recovers quickly.

BETHANY
So you know.

SHARRA
Yeah. I know.

She folds her arms again.

SHARRA (CONT'D)
Now explain it.

Bethany walks down the last step slowly, taking control of the space.

BETHANY
It wasn’t meant to be a big thing.

SHARRA
Then why hide it?

Bethany exhales.

BETHANY
Because I knew you’d react like this.

That hits.

SHARRA
(angry)
Don’t blame me for your lies.

BETHANY
I didn’t lie. I just didn’t tell you.

SHARRA
That’s the same thing.

Destiny steps forward, trying to ease the tension.

DESTINY
Guys, please—

SHARRA
(stops her)
No. Stay out of this.

Beat.

Sharra’s eyes stay locked on Bethany.

SHARRA (CONT'D)
Why did you give them money?

Bethany hesitates.

A rare moment.

BETHANY
Because they needed it.

SHARRA
And I didn’t?

That question lands heavy.

Bethany doesn’t answer immediately.

SHARRA (CONT'D)
(voice softer, hurt)
Or you just didn’t trust me?

Brooke looks down, guilt creeping in.

BROOKE
It wasn’t about trust—

SHARRA
Then what was it about?

Silence.

Bethany steps closer to Sharra.

BETHANY
(low, firm)
It was about avoiding chaos.

SHARRA
(smiles bitterly)
Congratulations. You failed.

The tension is unbearable now.

No one moves.

No one breathes.

DESTINY
(quietly)
We didn’t mean for this to happen.

SHARRA
But it did.

She turns away, walking toward the door.

Stops.

Without looking back—

SHARRA (CONT'D)
This isn’t over.

She opens the door.

Cold air rushes in.

Then she walks out.

The door SLAMS.

Silence fills the house.

Brooke exhales shakily.

Destiny looks at Bethany.

DESTINY
What do we do now?

Bethany stares at the closed door, her expression unreadable.

A long pause.

BETHANY
(low, tense)
Now… we deal with the consequences.

The clock keeps ticking.

Louder than ever.

FADE OUT.
